Welcome to Shores Homecare services.  Homecare associates offer a high quality range of homecare packages and care services for people in the Southern Holderness


Shores homecare pride themselves on providing well-trained and motivated professional carer support. Over the past year Shores Homecare has recruited more care workers and now employ more than ?? staff delivering 24 hours of care seven days a week. All of them are committed to helping others.


Personal Care


These typically cover:

  • Getting up and/or putting to bed
  • Washing, bathing and showering
  • Dressing and undressing
  • assisting with personal hygiene
  • Assisting with toileting
  • Moving and handling with or without a mechanical hoist
  • Preparation for day care
  • Contributing to rehabilitation prescribed by professionals
  • Medication Prompting
  • Preventative application of creams/ointments
  • Monitoring prescriptions, overseeing collection of medicines

Food & Nutrition


This service typically includes:

  • Food preparation
  • Dealing with dietary needs e.g. diabetes
  • Help with feeding and drinking
  • Advance preparation of snacks and drinks
  • Management of food stores, fridge etc.
  • Mealtime supervision
  • Menu planning

Health Monitoring


Services under this heading would typically cover:


  • Monitoring health condition and circumstances of client
  • Recognising need to summon GP or Nurse
  • Co-operating with District Nurses, Health Visitors or other health professionals

Household Accounting

Services that would typically come under Money Management are:


  • Assistance with handling money and budgeting
  • Explaining financial transactions
  • Assisting with personal correspondence

Housekeeping


Sometimes just a bit of help with cooking and cleaning, shopping or preparing meals can make all the difference, particularly if you’ve been ill or feeling under the weather  as with all our services, we are totally flexible and will fit in to suit your exact needs. 


Housekeeping covers such things as:


  • Making or changing beds
  • Writing out shopping lists
  • Going shopping or accompanying on shopping trip
  • Paying Bills/Collecting Pensions
  • Assistance with laundry/ironing
  • Vacuum cleaning & other light domestic tasks
  • Washing dishes
  • Cleaning toilets and bathrooms
  • Dog walking / pet care

Companionship / Sitting Service


  • Do you need someone to keep you company now and again, or on a regular basis?
  • Are you concerned about a relative or loved one who gets lonely?
  • Do you live some distance away from a relative or loved one and would like someone to visit them?

Our Companionship / Sitting Service typically cover things like:
  • Help in arranging Transport to appointments or social engagements e.g. hairdresser, doctor, dentist, cinema, friends house
  • Accompanying to appointments or social engagements
  • Company for a walk or other outdoor activity
  • Helping with hobbies / interests
  • Reading books / newspapers out loud
  • Being there to talk and listen

Stroke

Having a stroke can be life-changing but it shouldn’t mean having to move out of your home.

Much can be done at a practical level to ensure that people who have survived a stroke and other related illnesses continue to live as independently as possible in their own home.
This is why Shores Homecare have put in place a highly trained team who specialise in caring for Stroke survivors once they are back in their own homes. They understand the effects that a stroke can have on the stroke survivor, their family and friends.
People recovering from a stroke may need help in many different ways and Shores full range of homecare services can be adapted to meet individual needs.

Dementia


Having dementia is life-changing, but that shouldn’t mean having to move out of your home.

Much can be done at a practical level to help people with dementia and other related illnesses to live independently in their own home for as long as possible.
Our Homecare or 24 hour Live-in Services provide a real solution. We have specially trained care staff with the skills and knowledge to care for people with dementia and related conditions.

End of Life Care


Shores has specially trained care staff who can help at this difficult and emotional time. We can provide support for people who have chosen to be at home in the last days of their life, helping them to maintain their dignity and respecting their needs.

Our highly skilled members of staff have extensive experience in this field (palliative care) and where health needs are complex they will work with other health professionals to ensure the best quality of care.
We can help in a variety of different ways. Taking care of routine tasks such as shopping, cleaning or cooking meals, providing personal care or respite cover, or simply being there to provide sensitive companionship and moral support.
We would do everything possible to make life easier at this time.
